2017 Memorial Day Program – Village of Melrose

The Neil S. Lewison Post #439 of the American Legion in Melrose has set the following schedule for the 2017 Memorial Day program on Monday, May 29.

8:15 a.m.: Legionnaires muster at Melrose Legion Hall

8:30-8:45 a.m.: All marching units assemble in front of the Melrose-Mindoro Junior High School

8:45 a.m.: Commence march to Melrose Cemetery

9:15 a.m.: Program at Melrose Cemetery (the firing squad will split after this with part going to North Bend and South Beaver Creek Cemeteries and part going to Cataract Cemetery)

10:20 a.m.: Program at North Bend Cemetery

10:30 a.m.: Program at Cataract Cemetery

11 a.m.: Program at South Beaver Creek Cemetery

The speaker for the Memorial Day 2017 program will be Tech Sergeant Rosa Blackdeer. She was active duty in the Air Force for four years and has been in the reserves for 12 years. She currently works at Black River Memorial Hospital.

The music and song selections will be presented by the Melrose-Mindoro High School students under the direction of Mr. Eric Hanson and Mrs. Sharon Pfaff. In closing, the Legion Firing Squad will salute the dead.

A potluck lunch will be open to the public and held at the Melrose Legion Hall at 12 p.m. The May calendar drawing will be held after the potluck.
